Dr Howard Porter is the Chief Operating Officer of BEAMA, the Uk body for the electrical sector, and the Managing Director of the ESMIG the European Smart metering Industry Group, an organisation with a membership of the world’s leading smart metering companies.

He has a long experience of the demand side of energy markets, working with the UK Government, and increasing in Europe, to develop and grow markets to roll out energy efficiency goods and services. In recent years he has led the development of a number of new industry initiatives primarily the BEAMA Climate Change white paper, and a BEAMA wide political initiative with the UK Government. This initiative has been closely aligned to the Electra project.
